I'm thinking it might be best to stick to more jazz-oriented reading books. Looking for recommendations for reading material that will transfer to a big band setting best. I have about 4 months until the semester starts and I probably should get my reading as together as I can since I'll likely have less time to focus on this specifically during the program. This post is me trying to organize the forum searches and recommendations that I've seen from places like jazzguitar.be and in order to find the best way to be using my time right now and organize information, and also try to get more recommendations. I currently practice sight-reading 2-3 hours per day. I've been working hard at sight reading since November to try to get myself in a workable position. It's part of the reason I chose this specific school - reading is probably my biggest weakness. ![]() I'm going to be starting a program in the Fall where I expect sight-reading to be a large part of the program.
